Who knows? It just goes to show how golf can really screw with talent. For every young Tiger Woods we hear about, there is a Ty Tryon.

I don't know if it's lack of work ethic, sheer luck (or lack there of), or perhaps being worn out by the time you are 23, but young talant in golf is about as hit and miss as it comes. It seems that the best way to acheive success as a young golfer is to go to college first. Then either go pro on the PGA or Nationwide Tours. Sure players like Tiger and Phil have gone pro at very young ages and found success, but a more realistic model for yound players should be someone like Hunter Mahan.
