in 09', JJ had 296 pass attempts while taking 34 sacks.

JL in 2 seasons had 309 pass attempts with only 11 sacks

JL's weakness is obviously the INT's.

With some improvement, I can easily see JL committing only 10-12 INT's. I can stomach that over having a 100+ ranked offense.

I would have to say interceptions b/c the QB mainly contributes to those. The entire offensive line can give up sacks

Depends on the QB and his willingnessd to be coached/desire to improve.

How can either of you see less than that? JL has not shown that he has the decision making capability to make the transition.

That O looked like #120 with JL at the helm vs La Tech.
Against the Gumps, we still had a shot 'till JJ got hurt. Enter JL and..... you know the rest of the story.
I don't see why this crap keeps getting posted.

don't see why either one couldn't be significantly improved upon... you can argue both are functions of not making the correct read quickly and making the correct decision to throw or ditch

to some extent the sacks are also a function of OL and back blocking... which was a problem last year

Sacks can more easily be improved. You have the quarterback count to 4; if he hasn't thrown the ball, throw it away. Learn where he can throw it and it not be grounding. If he can't find an open man by the 4 count, or if he is being chased, throw it away. Period.

The problem with the interceptions is everyone in the stadium could tell who he is throwing to. He still stares down his target. It takes a lot of dedicated coaching and work to break that habit.

What is even worse is JJ had 9 sacks in 08 to JL's 8. How did he have 1 more sack when he only played in 2 1/2 games?

JL supporters say that its easier to cut down on ints

You clearly didn't watch JJ play last year. It's much easier to cut down on sacks. As someone said, it's about the mental clock.

This is the answer everyone has been looking for. JLee should be the quarterback, but there is a catch. We line up Patrick Peterson as TE. PP goes to the middle of the field and in case JLee throws an interception, PP tackles the guy. No more pick sixes.

How'd it look while scoring 38 against UGA? 21 against Florida? 30 against Arkansas? 38 against Georgia Tech?

Because it's really easy to come into a game with little to no preparation and perform well against the best defense in the nation. If you expected a QB who wasn't part of the gameplan to come in and succeed in that situation, then you clearly don't know what goes into preparing a team to play each week.

I realize that Lee's pick six's were crippling at times. An OL missing a block, Randle not catching the ball and Loston jumping the route for a pick six in the spring game just brought all the nightmares back in LSU fans' minds.

However, it's an awfully simpleminded fanbase to not see the progression Lee has made in terms of accuracy and reads. That pick six in the spring game is a fluke play. The ones from his first year weren't.

The fact that we were 100+ in ANY offensive category under Jefferson is just embarrassing. That's including the fact that we had WRs who made DBs look like they were blindfolded all year long (where are we against Washington without Toliver's catch and runs? Bama's DBs didn't even look like they knew how to spell "cover" when we actually got the ball to our WRs).

I really don't think people comprehend how staggering that 34 sacks number is. That's unheardof. Brees probably hasn't taken that many sacks in his career at New Orleans. Sacks and three-and-outs are just as crippling to a team as interceptions.
