They had a down year in women's basketball, but their tennis team, softball, track and field, swimming and diving, golf both men and women always compete for NCs.

Has more to do with the talent available locally to them than their coaches.

There's not enough local D-1 talent to help LSU softball win at the highest level. That's why they have to recruit nationally.

Florida high schools have much better programs for the non-profit sports (golf, softball, soccer, tennis, swimming, etc.) My public high school in Orlando had crew (rowing), swimming, baseball, softball (slow and fast pitch), tennis, wrestling, golf, lacrosse, track, cross country, water polo, bowling, volleyball. Most of those have boys and girls teams.
