characterized as a pro day riser not getting enough love-

One running back to keep an eye on as we get closer to draft day is Kentucky’s Alfonso Smith. Smith is a 6-foot, 211-pound back who ran in the high 4.3 range and posted a 36-inch vertical at the Kentucky pro day. Although he has averaged over 4.0 yards per carry in each of the past four years, Smith has never carried the ball more than 75 times a year in that span. He’s battled his share of injuries but doesn’t have much wear and tear on his body at this point. Combine that with his size/speed numbers and Smith might be able to squeeze himself into the latter portions of the draft.

That son of a bitch ate LSU's lunch every time he was on the field. Couldn't stop him (of course, they've had a problem stopping a lot of running backs lately).

most of yall have hamilton way over-rated, pt is our all purpose back and reggie is a great situational back, but we really need another back now.

Some team will pick him up in the 6th or 7th round. I hope it's us!

Dwyer is currently one of the fastest draft fallers IMO. He's gone from initial 1st Rd estimates to 2nd and beyond now. I'm all for whoever scores as a value pick.

My board beyond the top is still shaping up. My guesses are something like this-

Dwyer 2nd possibly 3rd
Gerhart solid 3rd
Dixon 3rd high as low as 5th
Blount 4th high endless bottom
Scott 6th or 7th

Hardesty and Tate I don't have a handle on yet

Without having a 5th rounder, plus the fact of needing so much defensive help, I hope the Saints don't spend a 3rd or 4th rounder on a running back. Even if Reggie not being here in 2011, RB should not be more important than suring up the defensive holes. Lets leave next year for next year.

Hopefully Herb Donaldson is still available.

Nevermind. He is still on the Cowboys PS.
