that's true. if youre going to run the option the qb needs to pinch the line and get seperation for the back and be able to turn and cut upfield on an instant. if he keeps running parallel then it's easier to string out and leaves your rb no where to run.

and jj does not run the zone read well at all. and the only time i've ever seen shep run the zone read was in highschool. if i'm not mistaking, i dont think he ran it yet.

and the option play last year was hit or miss. the reason we ran it, in my opinion only, is the simple fact that no other run play was working. as bad as the option looked at times, it did have gains at other times. a lot better than when we tried to run the wam or off tackle with that line. i think we did well, didnt execute, still think it was a better play then the wam or stretch, last year. just my opinion.
