Just watched the youtube video posted by Dandy Don this morning and I came away very impressed.

I'm not a scout but these are the things that stood out to me...
1.Very fast, closes incredibly well

2.Needs to put on some weight (and I'm sure he will in Moffits system). He'll have to take on ALOT better blocking than those patty cakes in that video.

3.Super cover skills and plays the ball in the air extremely well.

4.Very sure tackler. When he got to contact, the play stopped.

5.Fills the gap very, very well.

6.Typical Chavis LB body that in my opinion would make ONE HELL OF A SAFETY. The way he covers, closes, and plays the ball in the air, I think he'd be a great safety if need be, although I like this kind of LB. I think he'll play alot like Harry Coleman at linebacker with better tackling ability.

Comments?

ETA: I'm not computer savvy and don't know how to post links. It's on Dandy Don's update from today.

That was is highlights from his junior year as you know, but you can tell his has the frame to add on some more weight. FWIR he is already over 200 and has gained weight since the season.
He is a great pickup this early in the class!

Would not surprise me if he is up to around 215lbs before getting to campus. Since he is planning on enrolling early maybe he can be in the 220lbs range before the following fall.

As OP stated, very fast and one of the best tacklers I've seen at the high school level in a long time. There is no YAC after he hits someone.

Nice job by Miles and his staff.
