with the hangover guys on 690 right now:

Sit CP3 rest of the season- going no where even if you make the playoffs so let him get healthy

look at West/Peja/MoPete and make the decision to change the roster- 5 guys on this roster you have to move out

Bower just as responsible as Scott

Sit CP3 in the office and ask him what needs to be done to make him happy- franchise has to have CP3 or it's over

real good stuff

eta: SAS "I don't care about David West feelings- he is a shell of himself. He has not stepped up and shown that he is a leader so I'd move him"

I can not argue with any of those points. David West has opportunity to step up as a leader and has not. You have a good start with Collison and Paul, trade M. Thorton and David West. Cut Mo Pete and I really do not know what you can do with Peja and his contract but he is not worth the money. Try and get Chris Bosh and another power forward. Okafor seems like he is going to work here and his price is not that steep.

I like Smith; however I don't think people dislike him because he is black. That is just stupid. I think most people dislike him because he is loud and arrogant.

Why would you trade a guy who is producing making second round money?

agreed-

I like the loudness and what I call honesty

also said that the fans wouldn't like everything he would do with this team and that he's gonna be on as a "gm for the day" and that the team def wouldn't like that

I never had a problem with him. I always thought he was entertaining.

But many people dislike him because of the way he talks down to people.

1) Why trade MT5? Someone that produces for that cheap?
2) West as much as I can't stand him sometimes..is still underpaid..we may get some value for him just because of his contract

I agree w/ you here.

I can't say I totally agree w/ the rest. Screamin A was pretty good when he first came onto the scene. Instead of properly grooming him for primetime, ESPN thought to go lowest common denominator and turn him into a cartoon character. Could be that he was just playing the role he was coached to play or that's just what he became. Either way, he needed to disappear for a while and take it down a few notches. I hope he has.

I wouldn't trade Thornton.
Aren't NBA contracts guaranteed? So cutting MoPete would make no sense, might as well keep him, let him play a little and hope someone decides to trade for him.
I'm not opposed to trading West, even if he is one of the best contracts in the league. I have no clue what we could get for West, but I would think we would go for some expirings. If that's the case, we pretty much tank the season and I hope we can get a 4/5 (like Greg Monroe, Demarcus Cousins, Javis Varnardo, etc.) in the draft

i agree. never understood the hatred. i know he's obnoxiously loud, but it's not as if he's stupid. he typically has very valid points.

The only reason I mention MT is that when CP3 comes back, we will have three guards and we probably could get something good for MT. I really want to see them get rid of Peja and Mo Pete. David West is underacheiving in the last two years.

David West is not underachieving. He's just a mediocre PF putting up mediocre numbers on a mediocre team.

Hence...underacheiving, he was an all star twice, I think.

Like what? If he's a starting caliber 2, we need one of those. If he's not starting caliber and is just a 6th man, we need one of those too. Not to mention the home grown appeal. No way the Hornets are able to turn Thornton into something more valuable to the team than he already is.

Paul and Collison play te same position. Why would you dump MT5 when he is like 6'4 and the others are like 6'0?
