I think Gregg Williams will give him certain looks just to bait Peyton Manning into doing what he wants him to do. Remember, this time Gregg Williams has Sean Payton to bounce ideas off of, something he hasn't had before when facing Manning.

Have a life size Kenny Chesney cardboard cutout on the Saints' sideline to distract him

Miami kept Manning off the field for 45 minutes and he still beat them

I think that the LB's will play a huge roll in pass coverage. I would spy Vilma on the RB because Peyton is not going to run. Fujita and Shanle need to be the 5th and 6th DB in the short zone to eliminate the quick pass that Peyton lives off of. Blitzing will disrupt him a bit, but they do a good job of getting a receiver in the area the blitz is coming from. I am confident that Sharper will be fine, but Harper can not allow himself to get out of position; especially when Wayne does his favorite double move. Greer and Porter need to stay tight with Garcon and Wayne. They don't need to intercept the ball, they need to make the passing lanes smaller for Peyton. This make him wait the route a bit longer. The LB's will have to make Peyton think a bit when to throw to Collie and Clark. Pressure up the middle of the line is important because I am confident that Smith and McCray can handle Peyton if he rolls left or right. Ellis needs to make a factor up the middle.
Offensively, the Saints needs to score fast and often. Try to take advantage of Colts punts and score at least FG's. we need their defense to start playing tight on the pass which will allow Bush to make yards on spread formations on the ground. When we dominate teams, that is what they do. We jump out ahead then pound it for 6-10 min drives. Again we need a score everytime we get the ball inside the 50. Keeping the Colts out of rythem is important in this timing based offense.

Mike da tiger 76-excellent
Brees gets going in those 8-20 yard passes..even if they're incomplete, he is adjusting to the opponent's speed and loosening up that arm.

"If he bothers the Saints, we'll take care of him. What you've got to do is cut the achilles on the back of his leg right at the bottom. He'll never play football again, because his weight displacement goes back, all his weight is on his right foot, and he'll throw everything off to the right. He'll never come through on anything. He'll quit the game."

everyone acts like their offense was unstoppable in the playoffs, but that wasn't the case. They struggled in the 1st half against the Ravens and the Jets, but neither of those teams had an offensive pulse. Both teams gave manning the ball right back.

Same holds true for our man Brees, though. Two great QBs, but the media is WAY over the top for Manning. Brees will get his love when he gets his ring.
Damn straight!! Da man gonna feel da love. He deserves either way.

Using lures in an ambush defense..suckering the QB..most people (like me) think of defense as just being reactive. Great post..

Well, they did just drop over 450 yards and 30 points on the top defense in the league.

They struggled in the 1st half against the Ravens and the Jets
Those are by far the two best defenses in the league, and even if they struggled at times the Colts still lit both of them up by the time the game was over.

1. Tackle him before he throws the ball
2. Tackle him while he's throwing the ball
3. Tackle him after he throws the ball
4. Intercept the ball, cause fumbles
4. Bust Joseph Addai in the mouth rendering him ineffective
6. Tackle well
7. Use the 3 headed monster to our advantage, Mike Bell will be 1 of the keys
8. Reggie Bush must come up big

Joe Addai has got to be getting old. There must be a way to hit him so hard that he thinks he's back at LSU. That's slow him down.

Stop him by telling him Eli is a better quarterback, and that Magnavox makes a better tv! He'll argue, curl up in fetal position and cry.
