The truth is that Brady was the best guy LSU could get at the time he was hired. It also happens that he was exactly what LSU needed to rebuild it's program with in the wake of the NCAA sanctions. During his tenure he did some good things and LSU won SEC titles and NCAA tourney games.

What it boils down to is that John was never able to achieve a level of consistency. And don't tell me it was because of the sanctions or the NBA early entries because other teams not named Duke or Kentucky or Uconn are able to do it.

As far as the fans running him off.....WHAT FANS? Basketball is such an afterthought at this school it's ridiculous. If anything, it was Brady himself who alienated what fanbase there was with his acerbic personality and inconsistent teams.

That's my take. You can commence your witty negatiger retorts now.

Name me the programs beside the Dukes, UConns, and Ky (even they haven't done it) who do it. The NBA and injuries are the only things that kept Brady from being a legend. No telling how many titles he would have won. Also, basketball attendance is proof of how much the NEGATIGERS have infiltrated LSU sports. We won the SEC last year, yet it appears you blame Brady for this year's PATHETIC attendance. If you are not blaming Brady, your theory is up in smoke. NEGATIGERS are LSU's biggest problem, and there is nothing witty (intended or otherwise) about that.

How can you possibly equate LSU's situation with long standing traditional powers Duke, Kentucky and UCONN? Duke and UCONN did not have to contend with sanctions. While Kentucky did tehy also had the Kentucky name and the national media machine to boost them while Pitino was rebuilding the program.

Again, losing players to the NBA is much more destructive to a fledgling program like LSU than the other programs you cited.

Why not give Brady credit for the things he did accomplish within the limitations imposed upon the program rather than harpa bout what he did not achieve?
