He was making a joke that it was the extra 1" that made it impressive.
Like saying Usain Bolt ran a 9.58 / 100m and a mere 9.57 is not that impressive.

Hope he's not going to train for a bronze or silver metal in the broadjump,then. Jeez,its just a measurement. There's no broadjumping in football,unless he can QB sneak(leapfrog) over the line on short yardage plays.
