Can TAF not throw them some of their spare change. All band needs to do is hold a fund raiser during a game and they could raise a shite ton of money.

i was thinking something similar. TAF, maybe even athletics in general. The band is as much a part of saturdays in the fall as football. They pretty much go hand in hand at LSU. Maybe athletics or TAF can help out.

Roy also does symphonic band, so I think he's under the school of music, not the athletic department, but I'm not sure

I was pointing out I think the athletic department doesn't have a say in it, I think it was the university, pure speculation from me though

Wickes is retiring, Roy may not be back. I was wondering if Moorehouse would come back. If 2 directors leave, would LRM stay here where the athletic department has tried to take over the band from the directors?
Where's elleshoe or some other older/former Tigerbandsmen, they might be able to explain how everything works better than I can

yeah youre probly right. would the university not allow the athletic department to help out the band? morally and ethically i see nothing wrong but im sure there is red tape, and then the issue of the athletic dept. actually wanting to help, because you cant ask.

The university might be viewing the band as an 'extra' is my guess. Their primary concern is keeping the teir one status rather than keeping the band how it is.

bullshite. the band is one of the most important parts of the face of the university. yes, it is behind athletics, but the band means a lot to the average fan who has no ties to the band other than they like to listen to them play on saturdays in the fall
