LSU and USC started cooling off on their recruitment of him.

Don't forget Auburn and Texas from the beginning

Texas was never a serious contender. Auburn was an outlier.

Really was USC vs. LSU for most of his recruitment.

Wish him the best at Oregon.

No, actually, LSU is among those schools whose programs produce the greatest revenue, and Oregon is not even close.
And Oregon has not won a BCS national championship, and LSU has TWO.

What Oregon has that LSU will never have is being in the location it is in. You might wonder what that is. Oregon, the school, is in the middle of ECO-TOPIA.

ECO-TOPIA is one of the 8 markets in the USA, according to marketing, that is, advertising.
ECO-TOPIANs predominate from Carmel/Monterrey CA up the coast, with the great metropolis of SF/Berkeley/Oakland/San Jose/Sta Cruz, about 6 million people, the heart and soul of eco-topia.

It goes up to Vancouver, British Columbia.

Anyway, he is about to move to a new culture. Its not Mars, but there will be hippies, some kind of new-age clones of hippies, and radicals. Eugene has intellectuals and radicals and activists.

He is about to learn a lot about himself. Those guys will challenge him, on EVERYTHING.

I am surprised, actually, knowing what I do about eco-topia.
I didnt think he would choose it over LSU, which is practically a minor league team for the NFL.

He will be the big frog in a little pond. Eugene is teeny.

Life goes on. My concern lately was that he was downgraded from the best of the 5 stars after his junior year, to the lowest of the five stars, at this instant.
Of course, any team would love to have that kind of speed.

That's a great school in a great city where he should flourish. The Ducks need somebody to be "the face" of their organization... Especially with this mess that's going on with Masoli right now.

Stupidest post of the day.

What does that have to do with his choice of schools?

what does the culture of the place he chose have to do with the choice?

Apparently you dont understand a word I posted. I appreciate that.

He is moving to a place that is different from Louisiana and Texas.

You can grasp that much, I hope.

Lache made a good decision. He'll be perfect for Oregon's offense, and the Pacific Northwest is the bomb

Trojan, without a clue asked
What does Oregon being in eco-topia
have to do with his choice of schools?

Moron, the quality of life and culture of the place he moved to MAY have a lot to do with his choice to live there.

Seattle sez:

the Pacific Northwest is the bomb

Thanks for backing me up.
I thought eco-topia might be an interesting concept for them.
Ah well. The bomb, that clears it up.

And you think he is not aware of that?

It's not like he just woke up this morning and decided Oregon might be a nice place to live.

Did you not take your meds today? Your posts are unusual, to be put it kindly. I've also never heard of this "eco-topia" term you keep using, and a google search shows it as being the name of a utopian novel and nothing more.

I wish Lache all the luck in the world along with best wishes. I am glad we aren't going to have to hear about him anymore. For me, I felt like he enjoyed being the center of attention and he will be that in Oregon. But that is just my opinion. I think he is a great fit for the Ducks and will do wonderfully for them.

I like that you guys are all over otto's nonsense... I'm not sure where the hell he's going with that.

I think you're misreading the situation with Oregon though. There is no guarantee that Seastrunk will step in and immediately become a superstar for us. The Masoli stuff is very likely to blow over at this point, for one. Two - LaMichael James is probably the biggest star in the program after just his first year playing. Three - Kenjon Barner really turned heads this year as the hybrid slotback (TZR) player for us, and also did some great things returning kicks and he's in James' class. Four - Diante Jackson is a WR with a great big smile that has been dominating in scout team practices this year (the way James was last year) and he is going to come on to the scene in a big way next year. Five - Dontae Williams!

I think Lache has an excellent shot at being special for us, one day, but he isn't going to step on to campus and immediately steal the spotlight from the other talented athletes that make Chip's offense go.

I agree.

I don't know about Diante, but Lache is not going to come in and rise to the top of the depth chart right away.

Oregon is becoming a pipeline for TX backs.

Did he play the hat game?

No hat game. Lache read a statement thanking GOD and some important people in in life. Then he said "excuse me but I really have to run to the restroom." We watched as he walked fast to the entrance of the gym. All the while we were thinking he would turn around a go back to the table. Nope he went through the doors to the right and in a flash Lache appeared walking through the doors on the other side of the gym wearing a green and gold shirt. It wasn't until he got closer that we could see it said The Ducks. But some people thought it was a Baylor Bears shirt at first. And that my friends is how one of the nicest kid the has ever walked through my house was able to put the spot light on his team without disrespecting the other major players for his services. He has Class and will never talk bad about anyone or any college that recruited him.

I guess Otto's saying Oregon is nice place to live, on top of the team being a good fit him as a player. Which is probably true.

Now, will we use his scholarship for something we really need, like a DL, OL, or LB?
