This was not a bad article. Some good points were made. My issue has to do with expectations. I believe Miles is an OK coach. I just don't see how anyone can say he is a Saban or Meyer caliber of a coach. That is ridiculous especially since Saban just went undefeated in 2 regular seasons of the SEC. How many coaches in the country could coach LSU and get Les Miles results? In my opinion (after we went 1-8 versus top 25 teams in the last 2 years) there are a good number of coaches. If you are satisfied with winning 8 or 9 games a year Les will give you this all day long. He has proven he can beat bad and average teams. We lost the SEC by 5 and 3 games the last two years and were very lucky to have won 8 games in that stretch the way we played. Miles worshipers say we are going to win 10 plus games and win the National Champ. Miles haters say 6-6. What I am saying is Miles is going to stay somewhere in the middle. What fans have to decide is do we take a chance or cling comfortably to winning 8-9 games a year. Are we satisfied with fighting for 2nd in the West. Why does it have to be black or white all the time? I think we finish next year somewhere in the middle with the team playing like the #3 through #6 SEC team.

So do Miles 1st three years not count?

Does his national title not count?

And I don't want to hear how it was Saban's recruits, that is the stupidest argument one could make unless you want to say Saban is only because of Shula's recruits and Myer only won with zook's.

I think there's a pretty good reason for why the last two years were what they were.

My expectation is that our D@mn fine football coach will return to the form and standard he established in his first three years and I believe we will be back on the top of the mountain.

HOWEVER, if we run Miles off because 8,9,10 win seasons just aren't good enough then don't be surprised if we return to the 90's all over again.

Some people think it's just so easy, ‘why didn't the coach do this or that’, ‘I would have done it this way or that way’, ‘why did he call that play or this one’ when in reality they haven't a clue!

Les Miles is one of the most respected coaches in the country, outside of the delusional element within our own fan base.

If you can't embrace the Hat and what he has meant to LSU then I doubt you'll ever appreciate any coach that wears the purple and gold.

Yeah, I can see how a 3-5 record against those two would lead you to believe he can't beat them.

Yeah, like #1 Ohio St and # 4 VTech and #7 Fla and 5 teams that finished in the top 15 in 07 and on......

Yeah, like 51 wins in 5 yrs equate to 8 wins a season.

I don't know. You tell me how many coaches LSU had with 51 wins in 5 yrs, 2 SEC championship games, a 27-13 SEC mark, 3 Top 5 finishes, 4 finishes in the top 17 in 5 yrs, and a NC???
