I got to thinking about how Saban doesnt ever seem pleased. I think if he wins another NC at Alabama he will want to take on the NFL again but i thought, how about as a Def. Coor. somewhere. Then I thought how about the Saints?...any thoughts on this?

Is the new Samsung LED model really good.

In keeping the spirit of your original post - I have posted the list of random stuff that was on my mind just now - which contributes nothing to this board as well.

NFL head job yes. DC job no way. He always wants a challange and has a hugh ego. When he wins another title at Bama he will give the pros a hard look. It will have to be a organization that we give him total control of football operations. No one looking over his shoulder like Al Davis or Jerry Jones.

I just dont think he stays at Bama. Do you think he'd wanna go to another school and be the first to win a nc at 3 different schools?

Baytiger, I might be wrong but I dont think it all has to do with money in regards to Saban. Sure money plays a certain role but I really believe, just my opinion of course ,that with Saban there is a lot to the thing about his ego. Like the original poster said, I believe in Saban's mind he was indeed a failure in the NFL. Bill Belichek is one of his good friends having coached with him at the Cleveland Browns. It would not surprise me if he did get another MNC at Alabama that he may indeed give the NFL a second show with the preface that he had total control. I think that is what brought him to the Dolphins, but things changed once he got there.

Saban will never ever ever be a coordinator again, whether in college or NFL.

man it is painfully obvious how much it stings LSU fans that Saban is at Alabama. FWIW, it's a tough thing to deal with.. having the best coach in modern college football leave your school only to return to a rival school a few years later and make them the best, most respected program in the country.

i don't know what it will take for us to get over it, but i hope it comes soon because I'm tired of having to hear this shite all the time. a lot of people say Miles isn't up to the task to compete against Bama while Saban is there, but if he's really the best coach in the game, is there anyone who's up to the challenge?

One can only hope that we don't become like Auburn with the little brother complex and the insecurity that goes with it. It is a fact that Bama owned us at Baton Rouge during the Bear years.

The two titles helped us a bit but we are back to being the anorexic girl who is insecure because the ex-boy friend is now dating the prom queen.

Alas I really don't see that going away for the old-timers. If we win another title and a few more SECC in the next 10 years the newer generations would not have any such feelings.

WRT Saban - Is he a great coach -yes. But I think he is not as great as the "Saban that we refer to". There is too much parity in the SEC now , that, I don't think one coach can rule the roost for long.

One Program can rule the roost for a while, even in the SEC - and I think Florida has shown itself to be one such program with multiple coaches( in multiple sports as well).
