i think JJ had his chance, we gave him a full season and he couldn't do shite with maybe one of the best receiving cores in the nation.

Based on what I've seen, absolutely not. Doesn't have a good enough coaching to develop the way he ought.

We got Big Problems Again if he does.
It would be 2 more years of excuses of playing a young QB.

i just don't think that JJ is the qb to lead us to a championship. Man, Perilloux really fricked us good.

let us hope he has used this season judiciously by watching...and learning what not to do. if he has sound mechanics, can read a defense and shows poise he will get his shots. IMHO, jj showed little improvement and was a major factor in what went down this year. this is not a bash on jj but if he hit his ceiling this season then we will need somebody ready, willing and able by game three next year.

I don't remember many underclassmen and first year QB's competing for the NC. Even Tebow took a back seat to Leake the first year he played at FL.

I guess Garrett could be the one to break the mold and set the world on fire as a redshirt freshman. But if my job was on the line I'd go with the Junior with the pretty good completion percentage and middling QB rating over the never took a snap in a college game guy.

Now, if the question is whether they should decide on either Shep or Garret for the #2 spot and give them ample clean up time and maybe, in the case of Shep, a series a half or so, that's a different question.

I"m just gonna say that Garret looked very good at the spring game. Seems to be accurate with his passes and has good size

CG would have to be phenominal for this to happen.
NOt saying that JJ is anything close to that, however he has expericne and I really dont hwant to go for 3 straight yrs of green qb starting.

However if hes a player he's a player.
Not looking for it to happen though.

Im not gonna say JJ sucks, but Im not really looking forwd to a better offense next year and maily b/c he is gonna still be under center.
He is avg at best, best thing we can hope for is that he makes tremendous strides in the offseason.

Why not? Saban/Jimbo always made it an open competition. One knock on Miles is he really has not shown that the best player regardless of seniority will see the field. This alone will keep big time prospects from wanting to come to LSU.
As for the QB position, Tommy Hodson really looked pretty good as a freshman as he lead the team to a SEC championship. I know that does not happen with freshman often, but Garrett is not a true freshman anymore.

hope not. Why would we want 3 first year starters 3 years in a row? Let JJ grow.
