No. Not an accurate comparison.

Jefferson protects the ball to a fault.

Tough to judge a QB with a crappy O-Line and zero running game.

Correct! Take away Jefferson's contribution against Penn State and there is nothing left. Nothing. Nada. Zero. He was LSU's offense. He was all we had and there were a number of perfectly thrown dropped passes. Yet he is castigated by the raving idiots here.

I wonder if Mauch, Flynn or Lee had the same game as JJ did against a very good Penn State defense, with no support from their receivers, rb's, offensive line or offensive playcalling, the same people would identify the QB as the problem. The same people were clamoring for Lee after the disaster he served up last year. There is an obvious double standard that JJ and JR have been subjected to. It seems they are required to be perfect whereas other QBs can play average and are hailed as superstars.

If it wasn't for JJ, LSU wouldn't have been in the game at all. Some say he has shown no improvement. How many sacks did he have yesterday? How would you describe his offensive line? He was marchung us down the field until the genious OC called a play that basically ended the game. A play JJ executed well I might add.
