TT is so dumb. they wanted to give him a huge buyout so he wouldnt leave but a huge payout so they could fire him. they wanted to fire him after going 11-1. also wanted him to start playing OOC games against the SEC and Big 10.

i think alot more now. after see how TT admin treated leach i think its gonna be hard to find a good coach who wants to go there. leach made chicken salad outta shite

If you had to place a bet on who's going to be in a better situation in five years who do you choose Mike Leach or the Texas Tech football program.
I think Leach takes a year off and will have his choice of jobs at the end of next season.

He could even get a TV gig in between and start preparing for life after coaching. Revolving door and all...

I'd like to see him on espn, verbally going at it with Craig James.

Here is newly released Tech practice video showing Leach "verbally going at it" with James

thats pretty tame..reports are that the kid is a bitch and walks around with a sense that he has earned something because of his dad

Heard on Dallas radio station The Fan today, that Craig James would approach Tech assistants(with their families) at restaurants, sit himself down and talk about his kid's playing time and ability at the table.
Leach wil get another job.
TTU and the James family are going to be made out to be arse clowns.

Yeah, I think Coach Leach will ok after things settle down with the ESPN anti-Leach hype machine...

Lots of ego issues in those e-mails as well as a nickle-and-dime attitude that reminds me of Joe Dean's tenure as AD at LSU.
That money they think they're going to save by cheaping out a football coach is going to get VERY expensive for them in legal fees, a settlement with Leach, and a severe drop in football attendance because their next coach will be unable to get the kind of production out of their recruits that Leach did.
Their obsession with Gary Patterson at TCU and Art Briles at Baylor also shows a severe disconnect between how they see themselves and who they compare themselves against.
Baylor is a perpetual Big 12 bottom-feeder in football, with Iowa State being the only program with as poor a history as them since the formation of the league.
TCU is a solid program but a mid-major one seen as a slight cut below Utah and Boise State at the least.
The school administration sees the Tech job as a top 12 job in the country but doesn't want to pay the coach as such.
The e-mail they ignored from Leach's agent showing that Leach was, at best, the 10th highest-paid coach in the Big 12 helps illustrate this disparity.
Leach may have a bunch of problems, but these e-mails show a side of Texas Tech that will make it VERY hard for them to get a good coach and compete in the Big 12 anytime soon.

Leach is going to clean house, and deservedly so.
I'm not sure he'd be a good fit for LSU (due to both his coaching philosophy and way he runs his ship, I don't think he's right for the LSU culture) but he'll get a top job elsewhere for sure.
