w many games did Kendrick Brown play for the Tigers? Tack Minor was an elite player? Magnum Rolle was an elite player? They did squat at LSU. So either Brady couldn't properly evaluate players, or he couldn't coach even an elite player worth a damn. I'll give you, Tiger20, the choice

Kendrick Brown was a junior college All American and I believe player of the year, Tack Minor was a top 25 rated player and Magnum Rolle was a top 20 recruit when they were signed so they do qualify as elite players at the recruiting stage. Not every elite recruit develops into a big star in college due to multiple factors. So if you want to just cherry pick recruits that did not live up to their billing we can do that for every coach and program.

Why don't you list those elite recruits who did become star college performers? List is a helluva lot longer for Brady.

No, Kendrick Brown never played at LSU as he became the first JUCO player in history to become an NBA lottery pick. Was that Brady's fault? If anything it confirmed his evaluative skills.

Tack Minor was an improving player and may have become an All SEC performer had he not gotten dismissed from school for academic impropriety. Was that Brady's fault? You can claim he should have been more selective in recruiting, but given the fact that LSU basketball had deteriorated from 1994 through 2002 at the close of Brown's career and through draconian sanction LSU was not in a position to be too selective.

Magnum Rolle had a good freshman year backing up Big Baby and Tyrus then somehow got in his head that he was the next Kevin Durant. While he has been a good player at La Tech he may have developed into a great low post player like Bass, Davis, Thomas, Swift, Dupree, Randolph if he had remained under Brady's tutelage.

I believe the record is very clear that
Brady can coach elite players who are willing to accept coaching and work on developing their game while putting the interest of the team ahead of their own selfish agendas.

I supported Brady but couldn't understand going in the ditch the last two years... ala Jerry Dinardo, he couldn't get out. I was 50-50 on whether to give him another year.

Trent has proven he can coach talent.. the question is, can he recruit enough of it. The answer begins next year with this incoming class.
