This is just not adding up. Lot of info coming out and Leach is not the one looking bad.

He will get a good settlement. Tech screwed up on this one. Not saying they did the wrong thing firing leach, but they should have let the "process" run its course first.

ESPN just showed a statement from Chris Perry, I think thats his name, a DT for Tech, and he said the firing was justified and the team is happy that he is gone

leach has them on the hook for firing without cause-- they can do that, but of course they have to pay out the contract when they do.

more importantly, if you look at the so-called shed and shite, its clear that they put out a story through their own agents knowing it was false. and the jury will award leach punitive damages in the defamation case.

then it gets interesting. i figure leach has 20 yrs coaching left, at 2.5million a year in 2009 dollars. I'd spend 3 years litigating that, ask for remaining contract and damages of 50 million and tribel punatives. figure 200 million.

let them settle for 35 million and in 4 years be coaching again with a tan. pirates!

i will tell you this. there is a 100% probability that everyone involved in negotiations from the AD on down is going to get sacked.

eta: oh shite did anybody read leach's statement? it's on! i think i can post it since its a press release. hold on

Let me see if I can capsulize Texas Tech's position. We fired him because we gave him the chance to apologize and he refused.

Wait a minute. If a coach mistreated an injured player to the extent that you immediately suspended him and want to fire him, are you gonna let him come back and coach as if nothing happened just because he says he is sorry?

No way. What a load of crap. Leach will get a bundle of money simply because Texas Tech's story has more holes than a batting cage net.
