Look for Phil Mikelson to Have Career Year in 2010

And quite a career it's been already. Would not be surprised if Lefty wins 2 majors and 4 other tournaments.
In fact, I'll set the over/under at 6 total wins.

I will be surprised if this happens.

End of last year, Tour Championship was dominant. He seems to have the game in check. If he drives the ball well, and that's his nemesis, he'll do it.

Tiger has always given Phil the heebie jeebies.
I don't know about two majors, but I do expect a very good year, and not just because Tiger won't be around. He's been getting some putter help, and he's already improved his driving accuracy. I've heard he's hitting the ball as well as he ever has right now.
We'll see, as they say.

I'm a Phil Phan, but he has never had the drive to dominate. His family is far more important and with his wife and mother-in-law coming off bouts with cancer, I doubt he will be focused enough to win that many tournaments. I hope he does.

I'll take the under, particularly on the majors.

Not buying this. My guess is TW is back well before Augusta. If divorce occurs, I think he comes back rather quickly.

I hope so. But Phil will at least have a head start.
Even if Tiger makes it back sooner rather than later, it's hard to picture him being dominant right away with all of the distractions.

True. Also, not sure about how the caddy thing will work out. Hard to beleive SW had no knowlege of anything.

If he ends up divorced, I see no reason to kick SW to the curb. Those guys are a great combo when it comes to golf.
Bro's before ho's.
ETA: It's not like SW was forcing to Tiger to bang all those skanks. He's a paid employee, and he kept his mouth shut, just like he should have.
His role is irrelevant in all of this. Tiger hold the ultimate responsibility for his own actions.

Another interesting story of 2010 is how Kenny Perry will bounce back at Augusta after a heart breaking defeat.

I can't stand McManboobs. I hope tiger comes back with a vengeance and takes out his anger on all of them

I think the first three majors of the year set up well for both Phil and Tiger
Masters-Augusta National: Both Tiger and Phil have contended on Sundays over the past decade at Augusta.
US Open-Pebble Beach: This will have the same hype that Torry Pines did 2 years ago with both Tiger and Phil having enormous success and familiarity with this course.
British Open-St Andrews: Tiger owns this course, and has never lost there. Phil has never really played well in the British open, but St Andrews sets up well for him compared to most course the Open is played at.
I don't even remember where the PGA will be played at, but you gotta think that one of them will contend there. Overall, you gotta think that at least one of them will have a very successful year at the majors. If there weren't all these distractions going on with Tiger, some people might even be predicting a sweep of the majors. Should be an interesting year.

With all the news attention on Tiger, I think it is just a matter of time before all of Phil's issues about other chiilren and gambling come out.

Mickelson has been training with Dave Stockton, some say the best teacher of putting in the world. If he can make the 10 foot and closer putts he's missed over the years, he will be dominant. That's really the only difference between Woods and Mickelson......Tiger is money with the flat stick. We'll see.

Tiger has a distinct advantage, or at least he used to, in the six inches between the ears.

That might be the understatement of the year.
Actually Tiger seems to be stressing more than in the past. Has not been as dominant in final round and lost one to Yang when no one gave Yang a chance. BTW, the hybrid out of the bunker on 18 Sunday by Yang, was incredible.
The Yang victory signaled the end of Tiger's dominance on Sunday when leading. The mystique is not what it formerly was. Now, I believe Tiger will eventually break Jack's record of 18 pro majors, but the rate at which he will win them will taper off.
I really think that both Phil and Retief will have the dominant years this year.
Also, believe David Toms will win again this year after like 4-2nd's last year. Toms will also contend in a major. Hits the fairway w/ like 90% + regularity. That keeps you in most tourneys.

Why would you think that?
I'd think Retief Goosen would have a career year more-so than Phat Phucking Phil
