Rivals dropepd LSU to 8, behind AUBURN which competes with BAMA. I don't get it, someone please enlighten me.

We lost Hardrick and Davis along with Porter being knocked out of the Rivals 250 and all the way down to a 5.7 3-star.

Dropped to 7 on ESPNU as well.

Miles is letting the LSU ship go full Titanic.

the administration needs to realize that the schedule lines up for us in 2016, and these recruiting screw-ups are going to cost us big time. And I'm not even going to bring up the cluster that awaits us in 2021.

While I'm not extremely pissed about this, I do hate the way that LSU players always seem to lose stars as the season goes along.
Gibson and Porter lose their fourth star, but players like Muncie and Blue won't get their fourth.
I hate conspiracy theories, but the bias is pretty obvious.
I still think Milliner is a farce of a 5 star. He's not much more impressive than Mathieu.

And, when we sign a few more 4 stars and 3 stars we will move up because our total points will rise.

I thought this was supposed to be a down year.

I used to think this too but how else do you explain the correlation between teams with top 5 recruiting and winning the BCS Titles?
I feel that promoting a particular school's players actually does a disservice because then they wouldn't be able to win with comparatively lower quality players and the overwhelming feeling would that despite the star players they have not been able to get the MNC.
But schools where we felt there was a bias are actually doing well - so maybe this is only our emotional bias towards lsu players that makes us feel that they are getting the shaft always.

1, 7, 10, those ranking are meaningless - ask USC how much a #1 ranking means each year. If LSU recruits to their needs, and recruits quality kids who stay in school and want to be at LSU, the Tigers will be just fine . . final rankings are completely overated . .

The thing is, I'm not saying they are massively off, but the bias toward Miami and Bama is strong.
The two schools with obvious bias are Miami and Bama. Miami is massively underachieving and Bama is doing about as expected.
I don't think anyone is saying that Bama isn't pulling great talent, but it seems they always get a nice bump for their prospects.

Yeah I can see what you are saying. The bias is enough to make a #3, #4, #2 into #1, #1, #1/#2 and that kind of ranaking will make the news -> more attention->more star recruits thinking that it is worth checking out - ala USC.
And half the battle is often getting a recruit to pay attention and think that you are worth checking out.
Hmm - maybe we should start the TD recruiting rankings
ETA: maybe that needn't be a joke - if there is one thing I have noticed it is that if you publish a blog / article on a consistent and clear basis then there is a very high chance that news outlets start picking it up.
I think espn/other outlets troll popular messageboards for stories ala the twitter and clock mgmt rantings etc...

I think losing Davis and Hardrick is not good anyway you look at it.
