If sPitt could get more fans than empty seats at a football game in an NFL stadium it would make sense. But why da frick would we give them the gate receipts when 70 percent or more of the fans that go to that series are from our fanbase?

Because "Death Valley" which is used by no less than 9000 College and High School teams is so original and intimidating.
This game isn't at LSU and it's a 1 PM EST start (ON NEW YEAR'S DAY.) We both know the LSU fan base will probably not be awake.

That sounds about right. One of my memories of the Penn State game in Happy Valley was thinking, "Damn, I'd hate to drive this curvy road when it is snowing".
It was the road coming from southern PA and was about 10-15 miles from campus.

Other thing that happened on my visit to see Penn State play:
Seats given to me were on the 45 yd line and about 10 rows up. Anyway, I get there early and sitting in the stadium soaking it up when I looked down and Coach Paterno is right there in front of me. It was long time before the game and not very loud in the stadium so I scream out, "Hey Joe!!!" and he turns around, smiles and gives a little wave of his hand. I am all fired up, hitting everyone around me, telling them, "hey, that is Joe Paterno!!".
laughing to this day as people around me are looking at me like I am crazy and saying, "yeah, we know".

I remember a Penn State-Tennessee bowl game, back in the '90s, I think. Tennessee dominated the game physically most of the way, but only led 17-7. Then, Penn State started getting some freak turnovers and other big plays, came back and then it just snowballed. Penn State ultimately won 42-17 (scored something like 28 in the 4th quarter) in a game that Tennessee really had the upper hand in physically at all times. It was the darnedest thing I'd ever seen.

We know, because you haven't been to 3 NC's this decade and because they hammered you this year.
If Ohio State is so bad and slow, then what does that say for you and the rest of the big ten???
Yall continue to hate on OSU, yet they dominate the Big 10 every year, which doesn't say much for your program as of late...
ETA: Go ask Ohio State fans what they think will happen, since they have actually played upper level SEC competition and not the Tennessee's of the SEC you keep bringing up. Crompton was trash the year yall played him and still is. That Tennessee team is not comparable to us and the other competition OSU has faced in the SEC

So what? 2005 Iowa isn't comparable to us either. This isn't the BCS Championship Game. We weren't even in the Big 10 until the early 90's so most of us that were alive during the 60's, 70's and 80's could give a frick about the conference dribble.
No one is debating SEC best >>>>>>>>> Big 10 best. So untwist those SEC panties and calm down. You barely beat fricking Moo U for God's sake and they're not even bowling. If you're going to go SEC Rantard then go post in the SEC Rant.

How about you actually A) Beat Ohio St and B) Play in a real bowl game before you start pimping your bowl record from the Outback bowl around or beating Taxes A & fricking M.
Penn St would have lost to Florida in 06 (or 07 if you're a pretentious douchebag), LSU in 07 (or 08 if you're a pretentious doucehbag), and Texas in 08 (or 09 if you're a pretentious douchebag)just like OSU did too, you dumb frick. We all saw what happened when you actually went to a BCS bowl against a quality team.
Let's look at some facts:
1) LSU has as athletic as a defense of OSU, and moreso than Iowa. Patrick Peterson is gonna drag his nuts all over Clark's face all game.
2) Clark is a grossly overrated QB. In big games he disappears. The only "Big Game" he's played well in is when USC was up 31-7 last year and threw two TDs in the 4th quarter. Too bad he wasn't around for the first 3.
3) Penn St's defense is pretty pedestrian, but is able to shut out the Michigan States of the world. Congrats. Your line play is overrated, and that's where LSU will win the game.
See ya in Columbus next year
