I couldn't find anywhere else on the forum where anyone else had asked this, so i will:

Why, if SP decided they were going to do a fake FG pass, did he send Brunell out to hold as usual, instead of just having Brees inconspicuously stay out and be the holder?

I mean, with his height, I don't think many people would've noticed if he had knelt there instead of MB.

There is no such thing as Brees being on the field without being noticed.

Brees not the usual holder would make them know it was a fake..

it looked like a bad snap?

Not gonna happen. Wouldn't be prudent.

One of the main reasons they ran the fake was because of Brunell. He is left handed and this allowed them to roll him out to the left and supposedly make a better throw. If he throws the ball earlier it may have been successful.

You do realize that the players have numbers and names on the back of their jerseys, right?

Your answer is in your question.

If Brees is in for the hold, the only fake would be it they went ahead and kicked the fieldgoal.

OP, your original idea is silly, but I do think that we probably could have had D. Thomas or Shockey in that receiving pattern instead of the slower Dinkins. I have to say that I don't understand why.

That wasn't the problem. Brunell had both options open but just held onto the ball for some reason

Oh, I know that Dinkins wasn't the problem on the play. I was just curious that he was the target instead of Shockey or Thomas.

The Falcons player made a great play by staying at home and getting in Brunell's face early on in the play and disrupted his timing.

Credit needs to go to the Atlanta defense.
