Opinion or please provide link or some sort of evidence of this. I had heard "rumors" to the effect that she didn't "approve" of him being a pro athlete or something along those lines. Course, I can't substantiate that with any FACT similar to the above hypothesis.

Drew Brees and his mother have had a volatile relationship for years. In 2006, Brees asked his mother to stop using his image in television commercials for her candidacy of a Texas appeals court seat. Prior to this, Brees called his relationship with his mother "nonexistent" after a falling out due to his refusal of her attempt at becoming his agent
