How do we know Saban wouldn't have worked out in the long run? JJ's first year at Dallas ended in a 1-15 record. His second was 7-9. If Saban had stuck around, I believe Miami could have gotten better, but he didn't enjoy coaching in the NFL. His couldn't fully utilize the "process."

i don't think miami's record improved when he was there and he left them in worse shape when he left. who know's what he would have done, no one and that is because he tucked tail and ran from his failure.

one thing i will forever be thankful of saban for is his passing of drew brees. i will gladly take this "horrible" 5 year run with Miles to get brees.

For the previous poster comparing Saban vs Jimmy Johnson

Because Saban's record got worse when he was at Miami.... Jimmy Johnson's got better... Saban bolted and ran like a bitch when he was failing.... Jimmy won two Super Bowls when the tough got going... Saban couldn't even tell the coaches that he hired for Miami assistants that he was a bitch and was leaving, he made the owner do it.... Jimmy poured champagne on his coaches twice for sticking around to win two Super Bowls.... Saban is a great college coach and was a failure in the NFL... Jimmy was a great college coach AND great NFL coach... Saban couldnt hold Jimmy's jock strap... Miles is no where near Jimmy either....
