I've never liked the 20-25 yard drop of our safeties. True, it may help prevent the big play, but I think it also contributes to the "bend but don't break" long drives by our opponents. How many long "3rd and ..." did Arkansas make last night? I think, in part, that this is because our safety support takes longer to arrive, yielding extra yards on the crossing patterns and other plays.
