Go root for Oregon. They have the positively most garish, ugly POS uni's. Every variation they use is ghastly. It'l like watching Dennis Rodman play basketball. Diamondplate as an design? Whatever.

The only thing we need to change is the people who make the decisions on this team

The new uniforms are non discript, why change our traditon which sets us apart.

can anyone produce evidence that we have ever worn "old gold?" i have talked to my dad (and grandfather...99 yrs old! ) and they both concur that lsu has never worn "old gold" in their presence. they have been to many games. if anything, back in the old days, the "gold" was just a bit darker (less shiny?) than what we have now. the closest thing in a paint store that you can find to our color of gold is 'GOLDenrod yellow' yes, i know our gold is basically yellow, but that has been the way it is for a long time. maybe we wore "old gold" when y.a. tittle was the coach? also, don't forget why our colors are purple and gold. (mardi gras, shortage of green ribbons in new orleans ages ago...look it up) and for the most part, the 'mardi gras gold' of recent memory (on flags, shirts, etc) is not old gold. also, does it seem that the gold that the band wears is a little darker/more rich than the gold on our uniforms?

Look up helmethut.com and take a look at the exact replica helmets from the 40's and early 50's. It was the gold we wore last night. Paul Deitzel wanted a more stand out "gold" color for our uniforms, so we have what we have now from his era. YA Tittle was never a coach at LSU. He was a QB... this is why LSU needs to get his damn name up on that ring of honor asap! People need to know who he was and how great he was! Steve Van Buren and YA should already be on that ring, well before Cassanova and Cannon.

Our uni's.. yellow gold and yellow pants with white jersey's look freaking awesome. Best in CFB.. It was even voted the best a few years ago...why change that?? I hate the all white uni's HATE EM. all that white needs a breakup.

I asked the same question of everyone here last night. No takers. The current uni's have been around for at least over 5 decades. Nuff said. If you look on The Score Board for the "Burn these uniforms thread" you'll see the discussion from last night.

Only change I would make is go back to the old gold instead of highlighter yellow.

Go back? When do you think we used Old Gold instead of the yellowish Gold color?

Do you have any pics of LSU wearing old gold and can you specify how long LSU wore old gold? BTW, the first uni's were grey. I just mention that to show that this "bet back to the original color" talk is disingenuous.

I don't have any on me. Look up LSU football pictures from before 1955? The thirties and forties teams wore "Old Gold". You should be able to find something on the WWW. I've seen it in pictures and read about it, it's true.

we certainly didn't wear the current color "Gold" anytime before 1955??56?57.
