What are the chances that Les might pull in a top notch quarterbacks coach to fix that which has really plagued LSU for some time now, and is there a way to do that given NCAA restrictions?

That was the question posed to Les a couple of weeks ago at Walkons to which he said that he thought that Crowton was doing a great job and had complete confidence in him handling that duty with his other duties.

Now, I understand Les can't very well call out Crowton in such a venue, but I wonder if he REALLY believes that and/or is there a chance he might put more of an emphasis on bringing in a top notch QB coach to work with these guys.

If you have a separate QB coach and OC, then you have to get rid of (or double duty someone else) someone on the current staff. If Porter leaves, then you have to look for a recruiting lead and RB coach. I don't know that I have ever seen anyone coach RBs and QBs.

not really sure who that'd be. you don't see many QB coaches in CFB (guys that only coach QBs that is). Les could coach TEs and go and get a QB coach, or have some other type of coach with combined duties (like say a OL/ TE coach or something) in order to get one in here, but I think we need a new OC.

I know, I'm not aware of it in this division either. Just wondering if that were even possible. I will say though, regardless, I agree... We need a new OC, and badly.

Not saying it doesn't happen, Florida hired one when Mullen left, their OC also coaches OL. Also Ron Powlus is ND's QB coach, so he's a guy that could be available for the job. But what good is a QB coach if your OC keeps calling on your QBs to do things they're not good at or are not ready for at that stage in their development?

It's really not just the QB play, it's the play calling too. That's two problems, one solution: replace Crowton.

Again, no argument, but perhaps some focused development might help in bringing these guys along better. Maybe we can find an OC who can do that. Not sure, but one thing is certain and that's there has to be a change at years end, regardless of the next two games.

maybe we can hire Steve Sarkisian as QB coach. I think he'd rather have a prestigious job at LSU than coach in the PAC 10.

Can't happen unless Crowton is gone. LSU is basically screwed unless they fire either Crowton or the TE coach and just have Les coach TEs.

If Les was an OC type head coach like Meyer or Petrino, then you could do it, but since we have to have an OC since Les is just a CEO and not really coaching anything, you have to fire Crowton and get someone who can be OC and QB coach or do like UT and higher a QB coach as your RB coach in Applewhite, but since they've done that UT's running game has sucked donkey balls.

you think Meyer and Petrino don't have OCs?

I suppose you think Saban doesn't have a DC either.
