On the posession after Trindon failed to make the fair catch near the twenty costing us about 12 yards of position, we were once again backed up to our goal line. There was some confusion as to whether the Ole' Miss punt crossed the goal line or was legitimmately downed inside the one yard line. LSU rushed their players out and quick snapped a sneak for about a yard and a half, never allowing for the chance it may overturned and put on the twenty. Thoughts?

p.s. I never liked the Miles hire and am very biased here.

It was legit. The ball was downed around the one.

Even Danielson said that LSU got out and snapped quickly to avoid a replay. However, the replay would be to our benefit, so I never understood what he was talking about. Also, if we rushed to snap the ball...why?

Only thing I can think of was he meant to catch the defense not being set up. If that wasn't what he meant, then he was clueless at that point.

I heard that, too. Its not the dumbest thing I've ever heard a sports commentator say, though.

Um, watch the video again. The ball is CLEARLY over the line. That was a bad call.

Remember the Arkansas-Florida game and Verne comment about the incompletion after the WR fumbled after a 25 yard run?

It does not matter as long as the ball or the player don't touch the endzone. The Ol Miss player jumped, caught the ball and tossed it to another Ol Miss player. The ball was down at the 1 yard line.

The reason he had the play in there quickly for the first time this year is because Miles had money on the game, there is no other reason any coach would blow such a big game unless they had money on the game.

In college the ball can't cross the plain.

The reason they lined up quickly and snapped the ball was to try to carve out a few yards before OM was ready defensively. Wait until they do the replays and get set and the DL is probably in the LSU backfield and pressuring for a safety. To be honest, it really wasn't that bad of an idea.

quick snap was done just to catch the defensive line off guard is my guess.

Is a punt touchback/down at the 1 play even reviewable?

I moved to Louisiana from Oklahoma in 1984. I follow both of the big programs over there more than most of the people in Louisiana do. He was a sad sack then and he remains one today. He was not very popular then either. Always talks in circles and comes off as an idiot. You can't possibly believe that all started when he got here?
