Isn't that a time run off in the last minute if you don't have timeouts?

Why didn't we call a timeout with 26 seconds left vs. 9 seconds left?
In a nutshell, that's it. With a timeout we get the FG and everyone is still bitching but it's a win.

I wondered about that as well. I have to think it would constitute unsportsmanlike conduct, delay of game or something to fake it, but it's a time-honored tactic to one degree or another.
If you remember Hatch in the Auburn game last year, he was originally just walking off the field after he got his bell rung then dropped to the turf after coaches started motioning for him to go down. That was to give Lee time to warm up.
Alternatively, I wonder if somebody could have just taken a swing at an Ole Miss player to draw a dead-ball personal foul.
I don't think anybody is trying to blame the players for not coming up with something to stop the clock; just thinking through the possibilities. A lot to ask that anybody would be thinking that fast and clearly, anyway.

The question should be why didn't we just run the ball and everything else becomes moot at that point. I'll never understand passing the ball.

EXACTLY! Why didn't Les call the time out at 26 seconds? I guess if he does, they have time to prepare (the defense) for the long pass...The pass play on 1st and 10 1:04 left and 2 t.o....that was the idiot...who takes credit for that play?
