Well, for the record, other than Saban, none of these guys are ever mentioned for other jobs often, with the exception of N.D. (Meyer's self confessed dream job). Let's take a look:

Brown --- not connected to other jobs. Quite clear that he is going to retire at UT, having already named a successor.

Miles --- connected briefly to the UW job last year. It made no sense and was likely false. Other than UM, there are very few colleges that can afford him. They'd have to pony up almost $4 mil.

Carroll --- never connected to another college job, past as NFL coach gets him mentioned there and has gotten him interviews in the past.

Saban --- debacles at LSU-Miami and Miami-Ala have him connected with every job, even H.S. jobs. Seriously, no true connections to college jobs since he took the UA job. He is mentioned in connection with ND but that is probably because of his past and what ND can pay and not yet reflective of his interest.

Meyer --- Connected with N.D., his self-confessed dream job, no mentions for NFL or other college jobs. Probably never will be mentioned for the NFL after the Spurrier mess in Washington.

Stoops --- for some reason he is mentioned for other jobs the most --- Dallas Cowboys a few years back, N.D. and a few others --- may have something to do with the small media market in Norman. Otherwise, with his salary and success it makes no sense.

Other coaches of note with no recent mentions for other jobs

Joe Paterno --- no mentions in 20+ years
Bobby Bowden --- no mentions in 20+ years
Jim Tressel --- none I can remember since OU
Bill Belichek --- maybe that call last week cost him new jobs

Does that mean that these men (at least, in their prime, as to Bowden) couldn't coach?

Question answered?
