what will it take for you to see that Miles is not an elite coach? Would it take losing the next two games? Would it take going 8-4 again next year? What is your breaking point?

I honestly can't say what my "breaking point" would be until I get there, and I'm nowhere near there yet.

LSU under Les Miles won the NC in 2007, a year in which I believe Florida under Urban Meyer went 7-4 in the year following their 2006 NC. LSU was 8-5 last year, a very disappointing year to everyone, but there were many reasons for that decline: losing Bo Pelini, having to kick our star QB off the team and replacing him with 2 inexperienced freshman, and Miles' mistake of going with 2 defensive co-coordinators. (A mistake that Miles, to his credit, recognized and corrected for this year)

At 8-2 so far this year, with our only losses being tough, hard fought losses to #1 Florida and #3 Alabama, I am not so ready to throw in the towel as many Miles haters seem to be. Why don't you wait to see what the Tigers do in their last 3 games (OM, ARK and the bowl game) before declaring this year another failure?

That's the thing for me. It seems that a lot of plastic Tiger finds have a very low "breaking point". They can't take any disappointment at all and react bitterly when subjected to it. They have no patience, regardless of the circumstances, and refuse the reasonable request to give Les Miles the time he deserves to show that he can return LSU to the kind of form that won the SEC and National championships of 2007.

I respect those comments and think you bring up some interesting points. I don't hate Miles. I don't think he is a top five coach in the SEC either.

LSU just seems to be a team that gets by based on talent (which is admittedly here as a result of Miles) and rarely, if ever, do you see us out coach someone.

There are so many mental mistakes. So many questionable series. I have talked with objective friends and collegues all over the country that enjoy and have knowledge of football. They all think the same thing about LSU. Great players helping the coaches look better than they are in reality.

That is my opinion and it would be my privilege to be proved wrong. If Miles turns it around and we win the SEC next year as many on here think we will, or if we win the west, or we can prove that we can beat Bama and Florida when they are at full strength, I will be more than happy to come on here and admit that I am wrong.

However, it is my personal belief (which may be way off base) that we are more likely to be firing Miles in the next three years than winning an SEC or National Title under him.

Well, are you at the breaking point yet? Please explain kgcTigerfan (and others in this thread) how to defend your boy Miles now?

Miles is (1) an idiot as evidenced by this weekend; (2) in the process of ruining a once elite program; (3) a liar; and (4) a dead man walking from a coaching perspective. Luck and personnel talent propelled the man for the better part of three years in one form or another. He has shown an inability to develope talent now and complete incomptence.

You are a complete moron if you still attempt to defend the man.

I recognize he is fire proof for the time being and that truly saddens me. The only thing we can do is hope he has the balls to switch OCs and pray that he hires an OC that has a clue in the world as to what is going on. At that point, Miles needs to get out of the way and let men who are capable run the program.
