This is what's wrong with college football. All it does is keep the money in the same hands, and prevents us from seeing really interesting matchups. It's boring to see the same SEC teams play each other every year. It's ironic everyone will bitch that Boise doesn't play anybody, when these so-called "big teams" won't often play them as it is. Take a look at Alabama and how they have NO urge to play Tech at all. We have a winning record over them and slapped them twice in a row last time, so they have this weak "nothing to gain" attitude toward us. We need a playoff, because this BCS bullshite is ruining college football. With a playoff, LSU wouldn't be scared to play Boise.

If you want to be big in college football you need a decent sized stadium a good fan base and be in a respectable conference. If your team doesnt fit in those categories you will not get national respect.

I can't agree with much of anything you wrote.

College football has more equality and profits available to more teams now than they have had in the past. Granted the SEC is doing better than any other conference on a bottom line - but with more television, scholarship limits, and BCS profit sharing (including conditions to let in midmajors that would have NEVER been able to get a bid to a bowl like the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, or Orange before)... things are much better for the little guy now than they have been

I really don't see why people claim the BCS is ruining college football... all the BCS does is make sure two of the top teams will play in a championship game (instead of potentially having the top two-three teams all in different bowl games).

The idea that a playoff would fix this is fairly hard to agree with anyway... if the playoff were based on mostly major conference champs and say two at large teams then it reduces some of the reward for playing a premier ooc opponent IMO (whereas in some years playing a really good ooc opponent can benefit a championship team very much - e.g. OU - 04, USC - 04, Texas - 05, LSU - 07).

And if the playoff were based on pure rankings like it is now you still have the same behavior where if anything teams probably have even less incentive to take any risks out of conference if they are in a decent conference (although they would probably want 1-2 quality ooc games if they were from a midmajor or big east) - because as boise showed this year with one quality showing you can get into the discussion for a major bowl bid

You and I both know college football is changing in that regard. Look at all of the odd OOC matchups (UGA traveling out of the south last year to play ASU; Ohio State and USC/TX, etc.) and tell me we're not doing a better job since the BCS's birth.

Yeah, it's a treat to watch WAC schools play each other in front of 20,000 fans instead, isn't it? Love that Nevada/Idaho game!

Again, nothing personal...strictly business. And Georgis played them, as I said. Tell Boise to join the Pac 10 and bild an 80,000 seat stadium and we'll talk. It's not like they don't have finances. Hell, their basketball arena consistently hosts an NCAA basketball regional year after year.

PLEASE! You beat them in '97...when they were as bad as they've been in 20 years. They will schedule you again for HC in a few years. ANd you can add on to that "winnng record".

In the eyes of the meek, perhaps so. Is Boise playing in the title game speaking on behalf of you or something? By the way, they can go undefeated and they won't be in the title game. TCU will get in before them (SOS and appeal). If Boise wants respect, go on the road and play someone OOC besides PAc 10 teams.

So you admit that a playoff yields more meaningless games.

The repercussions of a loss make the BCS the best and make the ENTIRE year fun.
