Does it happen? Anyone watching the end of the Pitt/WVU game last year would have to be extremely skeptical to disagree.

Initial knee jerk drunken response... YES! After thinking logically about it... NO!

I met a Big XII official about two weeks ago and in the referee world, SEC officiating is the laughing stock of their profession. The dude seriously LOL'd IRL!

That fans (and I'm sure a few coaches) can have a discussion about it, tells you all that needs to be said about SEC refs.

It's time for the NCAA to take over the ref business...disallow any conf associations, make it a real, live job with a salary, hire the best and make them accountable. The org makes enough money to accomplish this.

Yes.. If they can keep one or more SEC teams at the top, it's a huge revenue generator.

Have you seen how bad the calls in question are? It's almost like, which is worse - that there might be a conspiracy to place either an undefeated Bama or undefeated Florida team in the BCS game, or that the calls are as bad (and I'm still a little iffy on 2006 @ Auburn) as they are and many are reaffirmed by the league.

I don't know what to believe, but either alternative is terrible.
