I think in principle this would be a good type play for this offense. The line is improving, but still doesn't hold blocks for all that long. Plays like the double reverse to Lafell this past Saturday are not likely to work because they take too long to develop and there is too much penetration into the backfield making the ball carriers have to run deeper in the backfield. It seems like a play like you're mentioning, where the action is like a very quick developing reverse would likely yield more positive results. The oline and other players wouldn't need to hold their blocks as long.

Agree. That's the point. We need to isolate Scott or Williams on one D back that Scott can overpower or Williams can outmaneuver. It worked regulary when they used it.
