Who are the front runners in your mind?

I have Brees in the lead with a slight edge over Peyton and Favre.

Matt Cassell, think about it, if McDaniels doesn't ask about him, Cutler doesn't go to Chicago. Chicago and Denver seem to be better off since the deal. Has anyone else helped 2 teams he doesn't play for?

Jarrett Lee against every defense he faced last season

Let me rephrase that question, has anyone helped two teams simultaneously that he doesn't play for?

I would also like to submit Gerrard Warren into consideration

Favre right now. Without him they have 2-3 losses right now. If the season keeps going like this, Breesus.

You could say the same about Brees or Peyton or AD or most of the best players in the league.

Not really. You can make a blanket statement that their teams would suck without them. That's true of any super star. You can't say those guys stepped up and directly affected the game's outcome in crunch time. Favre's two throws against San Francisco and Baltimore were plays that won those games. What plays did Breesus, Peyton, or AD make this year at the end of a game to win said game? I can't think of any play for any of them. If you want to say the screen that went 80 yards for Peyton, ok...but not really.

Just because the game wasn't close at the end doesn't mean they would have won without them. Sub in Brunell for Brees and the Sainst might have 2 wins.

And AD is the most valuable player in Minnesota, not Brett Favre.

they didn't need to - they played well enough in the previous 3 quarters to where the game wasn't really in jeopardy.

As evidenced by what he did with Tavares Jackson at QB...

Peyton or Brees. If they're close, like has been the case so far this season, I'd imagine that Peyton winning last year would help Brees.

Seriously? He only led the NFL in rushing and Minnesota to the playoffs.

Take Favre off the team and they still make the playoffs. Take AD off and they don't.

Brees 1400/13/2
Favre 1347/12/2

10 of Brees's touchdowns came in 2 games. He was MIA in Buffalo and against the Jets. Favre has had atleast one touchdown every week. He hasn't had any ridiculous games like Brees did against the Lions with 6 touchdowns, but it's fair to say that Favre has been more consistent than Brees this year. If you can't concede that, there's no point in discussing this any further. Taking off the black and gold glasses, it's very easy to give the nod to Favre so far. Like I said if Brees keeps this up I'd give it to him at the end.

It's not black and gold glasses, Brees is far more valuable to his team than Favre. Without him their offense is shite. Same for Peyton. Without Farve, Minnesota still has the best running game in football and still makes the playoffs.

Take off the ESPN glasses if you think Favre is more valuable than AD.

Chester Taylor has averaged over 4 yards a carry for his career in Minnesota. The Vikings would be better with Favre/Taylor than Jackson/AD if they had to choose one or the other.

I'd love to see Favre get it just to spite Green Bay, and for the fact that he might be around another 5 years if he does. But I don't think he is going to be in the conversation at the end of the year.
