I know I am from the old school. This lining up without a huddle and staring at the sidelines waiting for the play to be called in kills me. Like the young lady said, I don't know is JJ is confused or scared.

I can't stand it either, but it is going to be around for a while, every high school I've seen play over the past few years is calling plays this way.

It's not a bad strategy as it doesn't give the defense much time to change personnel, plus it gives the OC a chance to see what the matchups are. The problem is, the QB only has a few seconds to absorb the call, look at the defense and figure out where the openings may be. Not all QB's can do this, and at this point, JJ is in that group.
