On one of the college game day shows when May discussing Tebow, said Florida had to be careful, because LSU would attempt to hit Tebow high instead of low now. Didn't say LSU would attempt any cheap shots, but did insinuate they would be change how they would hit him, based on his recent injury.

Seems like kind of a crappy comment to me.

May has forgotten about football.

It is like he is some type of gossip columnist.

I would hope no one would try to further injure any player.

Agreed.

And, the problem with Tebow playing. If we bang him, even if it's a legitimate hit, and he goes down, we will be blamed for all sorts of evil savagery.

I hope if he does play, that our defense doesn't hold back, and does play with abandon, because we'll need them to in order to win.

I doubt they'll hit him any different. Just try to take him down and limit his yardage on the runs. If he is hurt and can't play any more its a bit of a "bonus" (yeah thats a harsh way to think about it, but kinda true im sure)

I think our D will be forced to not hit Tebow by the officials. If he plays expect at least one bogus call.

Obviously any direct contact to his head is worse and the higher you hit him, the more likely it is that it will cause his head motion to snap backwards opr forwards.....but no matter HOW or WHERE he gets hit it will aggravate a concussion. Every time he gets tackled, his helmet will hit the turf.

what i think sheds a bad light on urban meyer is the fact that talk shows in orlando are discussing the fact that meyer has alluded to the fact that if UF was playing charleston southern this weekend he would hold tebow out ... so, all of this "we are going to take this concussion seriously" crap is just bullshite ...

it is unethical and unsportsmanlike for him to play, so he gets what's coming to him, imo.

eta: i say this because he wasn't allowed to even READ three days ago. No way is a LEGIT doctor going to clear him to play. If he's a punter, maybe, but he's essentially a throwing fullback--his sine qua non is battering people with his freaking head. so, now, LSU is put in a position where, to win the game, they have to beat the crap out of someone who might die if they beat the crap out of him hard enough to win.

this is wrong.

If Tebow is cleared to play then there is nothing wrong with him. It is not the time to let up on him. ESPN will always put LSU in a catch 22 situation. Mark my word if Tebow plays and wins; he will be immortal forever. If he looses there is always the concusion excuse and LSU did not deserve to win. Just be prepared for a no win situation if LSU wins the game.

Does anyone actually think that if Tebow plays, that there will be called runs for him? And if he does run, he does _anything_ but slide?

The kid is smart. Even a recent concussion won't take his smarts away enough that he doesn't recognize and understand the danger of a second-impact syndrome concussion.

While his instincts and style will make him want to put his head down and run like he always have, I predict the only shots LSU gets at him are in the pocket.

I also predict that if he plays, and runs, and doesn't slide, Meyer yanks his arse out of the game so fast it'll cause another concussion.

Shoulder to helmet is legal.

As long as they don't hit him helmet to helmet, its fair game.

Also, if Tebow wasn't cleared to play, he wouldn't. I want to see the flags fly for his Gator Chomp...

Shitty comment by May. I think our guys will try to bring the quarterback down anyway they can. May needs to quit reading message boards.

I think if Tebow plays and gets hurt, it will be bad PR for LSU. Even if a legit hit, LSU will be unfairly criticized for Tebow's injuries.
