So who is going to pick up the slack? I know we have multiple weapons, but who do you see as helping out the most as far as our other options? I really feel like this is the game where Robert Meachem breaks out. Any thoughts?
Revis vs. Andre Johnson
4 receptions - 35 yards
Revis vs. Randy Moss
4 receptions - 24 yards
Revis vs Justin Gage
4 receptions - 37 yards

Go look up Revis vs. Nate Washington. Nate worked him. (edited to say this was false as proven in a later post...damn me) TD pass went right over his head.

ok, I wasn't sure if Revis covered Gage or Washington.
Nate Washington
2 receptions - 25 yards - 1 td
not exactly what I would call working some one, but he did get in the endzone.

see discussion here
big Shockey & Bush days IMO with quick hits. But as last week, run it down their throats until you force their hand if they think only stopping the pass will work

You are right. :puts head down and walks away:
He covered every receiver at one time. Well..not at the same time....you know what I meant.

I should have known. I thought that I had an original thought/concept only to find out blues had already covered the subject one day earlier.
Go Meachem!

If Drew is on his game, then it doesn't matter who is covering who. How many times did you see throw it to a receiver that is completely covered and squeeze it in? Like Drew Brees said about Green Bay's defense last year...His best is better than their best.

IMO, Bush should have a HUGE game on screens alone. The Jets have been living on the blitz and Reggie is the best type RB you can have against it.
I've been frustrated as any with him lately, but I think his numbers are going to be huge this game.

Won't matter if he does, Brees knows how spread the ball around.

Dude, if Assante Samuel and Sheldon Brown couldn't stop Colston then I surely don't think Darrel Revis is anything to worry about. I think his numbers are just a byproduct of the Jets pass rush. A pass rush that will become null and void against the awesomeness of Zach Streif.

whoa now, you gotta give Revis his due. That kid is a shut down corner. I still stand by the thought that the jets are gonna blitz heavy and drew is gonna hit devery for a couple long touchdowns. Also the screens to Reggie, and hittin Shockey all over the field. And of course a heavy dose of Pierre

our receivers are like weeds.
cut one down, 2 more just pop up.

not knocking Assante at all but didn't he leave the game at the beginning of the second half? I could be wrong but one thing I will say is that Colston has the height advantage over most corners. THROW IT TO THE BIG MAN.

Right, that was my original question. If he does shut him down, who steps up for us?

By the way:

Cornerbacks Lito Sheppard and Donald Strickland remained sidelined after sitting out last Sunday's victory over the Titans with quad and ankle injuries. Safety Jim Leonhard missed practice with a knee injury. Cornerback Darrelle Revis (knee) and safety Kerry Rhodes (knee) were limited.
