Wells Fargo used to be the worst at that. I lease a copier and Wells Fargo used to be really bad about putting a $50 late fee on your account every month or two. I would have to call them up and tell them that my check had even cleared back to my bank before the payment was due and they would simply say "Sorry" and take the $50 off my account. Evidently they got busted on this as they haven't done it in a few years.
