where do all the LSU fans usually congregate?

my brother-in-law and I are making our first trip to Athens and want to tailgate with other Tiger fans.

I went last time we played in Athens and will be back again this year. We hung out at a place called "Bourbon Street Bar." It's close to the stadium and had a nice crowd. There are a few bars just outside of campus that seems to be where everyone hangs out.

The LSU Alumni Assn (Atlanta chapter) has rented a parking lot and selling spots for $20, more if you want them to feed you. Check their site and see if they have any spots left. There's also a high school about two blocks off the main road that leads to the stadium where lots of us parked a few years ago. UGA doesn't allow on-campus tailgating so finding something decent is tough these days. Also, check the website for the Dawg Pound. They may have some suggestions.

Last time I hung at the bars the night before. Gameday I went to one of the lots with a bunch of tailgating groups, but it was WAY off the beaten path. We went back to the bars near campus and had a great time.

The Athens entertainment district is great.

?? We went last time LSU was there. We pulled up in the middle of campus and set up next to UGA fans who were tailgating. Basically just like LSU. Mind you it was probably 7:00 AM when we got there. Had no problem finding a spot.

UGA does allow tailgating on campus, you just have to drive around to find the right spot.

The high school that rumtumtiger is talking about is Clarke Central High School on Baxter St. About $15-$20 parking and not too far of a walk to the stadium.

There are tons of bars downtown to hang out before and after the game. Bourbon St. bar is definitely full of very young undergrads, but there are many other options.

I belong to the LSU Atlanta Alumni group and the tailgate party for the UGA game is located near the intersection of Broad and Thomas streets. The alumni group from Baton Rouge will be joining us and as of a few days ago very few parking spots were left. If you want more info go to lsuatlanta.com, click on contact us at the top and send our organization an email requesting info on the affair. Someone will get back to you. Hope this helps!
