Couldn't he get a medical exception and after next year get a 6th year of elegibility, ala K Pittman and C Alexander?

This injury could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for him, no?

Yeah, it'd be great to have Murphy have an extra year to carry the ball once per game.

it's possible, but he hasn't really missed any time before this, so he'll have to be injured next year also likely and miss games

i don't anticipate murphy getting starter PT next year, injury or no injury

I have never understood the love for Murphy. Has never been impressive to me. One less guy for Miles to keep throwing into the mix and maybe that translates into more carries for Keiland.

I agree with you for this year, but some players mature late, like the receiver that caught the Bluegrass Miracle (Devery Henderson) that plays for the Saints...he caught plenty of shite from the fans before his senior year.

Which probably means he's out for five or six -- remember last year when Hatch had a broken leg and Miles was always saying week-to-week?

Take the time that Miles says that someone will be out, then multiply it by five or six.
