I kept thinking to myself that JJ looked like he just turned 19 about 17 days ago. The problem was the play by play guys would not confirm it.

Yes! When I was a kid I loved Brent Musburger (this was 30 years ago, mind you) Keith Jackson and all the other "drama" guys. Building back-stories (like Davey Jones Locker 
) was to be expected when you only had 3 networks. They tried to appeal to a larger audience.
Now the viewers are more sophisticated, but the old guys still follow the old paradigm.
FWIW - I really like Kirk Herbstreet (I know, I know - he hates LSU). Musburger - "those rascals" "that young fella" ugh.
