I dont see why people are all up in arms over this shite. Its the end of the Mayan calendar, which is based on math and astronomy. This is when our sun is lined up directly with the center of the Milky Way or something rare like that. We have no evidence that anything armageddon-ish will happen, we just dont know. For all we know a death ray will zap us from the center of the milky way, or we will just have a good late december night? The history channel has overplayed this 2012 shite soo much that it has people all scared, and yeah a few directors wanna capitalize on it. There have been many other times the world was "supposed to end", and we are still here...
