Thank ya...I hadn't seen much of him before to my knowledge.

I watched the video of the game last night. The three true freshman I saw on the field were Randle, Loston and Downs.
Speaking of Downs, Chavis has to get him on the field more as the season progresses. He plays hard and got a push on the interior every play he was in on. Also, I want to see more of Chancey Aghayere and Lavar Edwards at DE. They are bigger, stronger and more athletic than Levingston and Alem. They look the part of a 4-3 DE and, from their limited action, I think will develop into fine players. They are both already better than Levingston and Alem against the run.

I don't see Alem coming out.

Don't get me wrong, I think Chancey Aghayere has the potential to be a good end, but he lost contain repeatedly on off-tackle run plays.

I agree Alem is not coming out. Miles is not going to sit a senior unless the guy does something off the field to warrant him being disciplined. It is a shame because I think Alem is better suited to play OLB. He is too small to play the run effectively as a DE because he gets engulfed by the larger tackles. And, by relying upon his speed, he usually runs himself out of the play or gets cut blocked down to the ground.

I like Alem no matter what because he was one of teh few players who performed well last year.

I saw RS run on the field to pick up the tee after the opening kickoff. Does that count?

Yes. He's just trying to show CLM he wants in.

Not saying I dislike Alem. Just that I think he is playing out of position. At least in terms of having him at DE on running plays.
I agree he was one of the few guys who played hard all last season. No doubt about that.
Aghayere giving up outside contain was due to his lack of experience. Later in the game, both he and Edwards were maintaining their assignments and pushing the tackles back. They are both longer and stronger than Alem and Levingston.
