How many of U would be in favor of a 5 yard penalty or a warning prior to accessing a penalty for lobbying for a pass interference call by waving your arms in a manner for the ref to toss a flag? Refs are only human and are easily influenced by players.

Man we're trying to get rid of subjective flags and you're wanting to add more. No way.

this does annoy me greatly but there are too many penalties in football now.

Did I say in my original post I was in favor of throwing a flag for "lobbying", I do not think so Paul, just asked a question because it is frustrating to see both LSU and opponets do this and get a call. I wonder if a warning and then a penalty would actually reduce the number of penalties????

I am against such a penalty, but I think that any referee who throws a flag based on such a hand gesture without definitive visual evidence should be fined and penalized by the league after the game. I know the call you are referring to and we didn't touch the guy.

garbage, thread sometimes you have to do that to call attention to the situation if it is not called that time. The referees working the natchitoches central games used to be the worst.

The problem I have with your point is that you see this in basketball all the time. And it has gotten out of control. The refs have egos and can't stand being told that they are wrong in their call. So, what they do is take it out on the player or team that pisses them off and starts blowing the whistle if they so much as fart the wrong way. I don't want to see this element in football. It's one of the reasons I rather football to basketball.
