I would fire him for five losses. That is not the right direction no matter how you slice it. Too much talent to dick around with five losses two years in a row. We would have to move before the program is in complete shambles. We shouldn't wait until we go sub .500 to make a change. If we do it at that point, then the new coach could come in while there is still talent.

What top-notch coach is going to want to come in to a situation where 11-2, 11-2, 12-2, 8-5, 8-5 gets you fired?

I am hearing a lot of LSU fans today wishing they had Saban back if only for his defense.Bama is going to be hard to beat by mid year....even by Florida if McElroy improves

A coach with swagger. Look what UF did when zook was mediocre. They canned his arse. He recruited well. I'm not saying 8-5 is going to happen, but if it does then something needs to be done.

I don't think Urban Myer is available. Name me some coaches who have this "swagger" you speak of.

Wonder how people will react with a Vandy loss?

You left out an SEC-W win, an SEC outright win, and a BCS national championship, and have the highest winning percentage in school history, and be fired.

Zook was 23-14 and two bowl losses. We're not really comparing Miles' record at LSU with Zook's record at Florida? Zook didn't win 8 games/year at Florida. If Miles wasn't averaging almost 10 wins a year, with a BCS victory under his belt, maybe you have an argument that back-to-back 8-5s are enough. We're not talking about a record that is in ANY WAY comparable to Zook's record at Florida.

NOthing like resting on your past laurels.

If he loses 5 this year, he is officially on the hot seat for next. IF in 2010 he loses 4+, then he's gone.

We had all kinds of great coaches beating down the door to come here before Miles,(sarcasm) I'm sure everyone will want to be here when he leaves.

I don't think very many people on this board grasp the concept of this statement........also Miles could lose every single game this year and not be fired......now 4-5 loses absolutely gets the hot seat warming up but not getting fired this year

Well said. He doesn't have a life time pass ,but unless we go 1-11 and he bangs a Golden Girl at midfield after the Arkansas game,he's not getting canned.

With that said, there's no doubt we need to fix a lot of stuff on defense .Still, most of the people jumping up and down the loudest right now never have liked the guy and wanted him fired after the win over Ohio State in the NC game.

Hard to take a lot of those people and their posts too seriously.
