Not really. Most didn't qualify. Harder to get a JC transfer into UW than Stanford, Cal, SC, or UCLA. UW doesn't have a PE degree and therefore a lot of classes don't transfer over.

I look to count at least 6 kids from JC/CC, is the site wrong?

Gaise - NO.

"It doesn't look like he's going to make it,'' UW coach Steve Sarkisian said after practice. "At this point I would be very shocked if it did happen.'' Sarkisian said official word may have come during practice that Gaisie, a transfer from Mt. SAC JC in the southern California area, wouldn't make it in.

"It's unfortunate,'' Sarkisian said. "He's a great player and if it doesn't happen we wish him the best of luck. He's a very good kid.''

Gaisie participated in UW's first practice Monday before it was learned that the NCAA Clearinghouse was reviewing his transcripts. Sarkisian said he didn't know the specifics of it to know if there was a chance that Gaisie could return at a later date but he seemed to indicate it won't happen.

On another note it looks like Dominique Gaisie isn't getting in and it is a UW decision rather han a clearing house decision. Word is he is likely headed for BYU and he could have gotten in anywhere in the Pac Ten except Washington.

Mafoe - NO.

One intrepid commenter passed along the news that Daniel Mafoe, a JC OL who did not get into UW, will play this season at West Texas A&M. Same reader also noted that Dominique Gaisie is no longer on the roster at Central Washington. Not sure why.
