Severing the line is no more legal than ramming the whalers, but yeah, you only have to look at the goofy, delighted expression on his face to realize that ramming was the "plan" all along.

I think the whalers would be well within their rights to start shooting if the Sea Shepherd gets too close in the future.

exactly, only ramming the ship could lead to loss of life if one or both sink in the frigid antarctic oceans

i would LOVE to see them get stronger water cannons..and shoot the acid-throwing hippies right off the deck into the water with their ship still a half mile away
