I do not feel there is the proper amount of excitement about this recieving core. I am extremely excited about this group. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find another group of recievers with a better top 3 talent wise. We literally have 3 first round talents on this roster who are all big and rangy. This group should help Jefferson develop early and will play a big part in this team's success.

you must not read this board very often; there's been a ton of threads about the receivers. mostly what most hope for is a qb that can find 'em and get the ball to them.

No, I read the board every day. I am talking about the great potential of Toliver and Randle. I think a lot of people overlook this.

With Terrance its all going to depend on his decisions. If he runs the wrong route and the qb throws to the "right" route, then an interception is likely. All the talent in the world wont matter if he doesnt understand what to do. But, lets be optimistic... - here is to an all-SEC year.

I think it finally clicked with Terrance late last year. He and Jefferson seemed to have a connection, which is great.

We all know about Lafell and what he brings.

Randle will be able to play, get accustomed to the college game while not having too much pressure to perform. Great situation to be in.

Also, its C Mitchell and RJ Jacksons final year to shine so they could come out with a fire under their arse...

I'm assuming you're talking about LaFell, Tolliver and Randle of which only one has proven to be top shelf. Tolliver must realise that his time is now and he really needs to start stretching the field for LSU. Everyone we face will stack the box until JJ and the receivers prove that to be risky business. Everyone, with good reason, talks about what Chavis is going to do but Coach McCarthy may have more to prove than anyone else.

very true. we cannot run if we cannot pass. i am uncertain if our passing woes that season were due to WR's or QB's. i think the latter. it looked to me (and i could be wrong) that JL locked on to a receiver, thus telegraphing his target. it doesn't matter how many great WR's we have if only one gets a look every play and the defense sees who he's going to. experience should cure all of that (hopefully). JJ seems better at seeing the field and not locking on to one guy.

Not me. I am pumped about our WR's this year. They want to make up for last year and will put up big numbers. Teams will challenge us to throw the ball, and if we can give JJ time they will do just that. Lafell will command double teams and that will only open things up for TT, RR, CM...This group could (could) be as good as Bowe, Davis, Doucet.

I really think this group should be as good as Bowe, Davis, and Doucet. The big difference is size. Lafell, Toliver, and Randle are all 6'3" or taller. This is a position where we have had the greatest success recruiting the last couple of years grabbing the nation's top prospects in 07 and 09.

I know alot of this is based on potential, but I believe as the season progresses a lot of fans are going to be thinking Byrd should have been benched last season.
